SALT LAKE CITY—U.S. Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) today toured Utah businesses and met with local leaders to discuss Utah’s water challenges. Romney started the day at OxEon Energy in North Salt Lake, where he toured the firm’s facility and met with employees. He then visit Bonnell Aluminum in Clearfield for a meeting with their executive board about the company’s efforts to shore up our supply chains, followed by a discussion with its workers. Romney ended the day at the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District for a roundtable discussion with local leaders about the Jordan River Watershed and the Great Salt Lake.

Utah’s business environment is ripe for innovation, which is evident in OxEon Energy’s effort to create sustainable clean energy technologies. Senator Romney toured their North Salt Lake manufacturing facility and hosted a discussion with their employees.

Senator Romney met with Bonnell’s executive board, toured their Clearfield plant operations, and hosted a discussion with their employees.
Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District
Although Utah has received historic moisture this winter—which supports our needs in the short-term—we can’t lose sight of our state’s long-term drought problem. Senator Romney met with the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District in West Jordan to learn more about their efforts to address these challenges, including getting more water into the Great Salt Lake.
