U.S. Senator John Curtis announced on Mar. 23 that Jenney Rees will serve as his new State Director, leading the senator’s statewide strategy, operations, external engagement, and constituent services.

The appointment is significant for Curtis’s office as it seeks to maintain strong local engagement and effective constituent service throughout Utah. Rees has previously served as Deputy State Director and Senior Adviser to Curtis.

“Through her extensive professional background, Jenney brings both enterprise-level expertise and a boots-on-the-ground understanding of the unique needs and pressing challenges of our state,” said Senator Curtis. “I’m grateful to have her continued counsel and leadership as we prioritize local engagement and constituent services throughout Utah.”

Curtis also thanked Lorie Fowlke for her eight years of combined service as State Director in both the House of Representatives and Senate. “Her vision, grit, and determination have made our office one of the most responsive and effective constituent service operations in Congress. She will remain a critical member of my team as she assumes the role of Legal Counsel and Senior Advisor,” Curtis said.

Rees expressed appreciation for her new position: “I’m grateful for the opportunity to step into this role and build on strong relationships across the state,” she said. “I look forward to working with Senator Curtis and our team to continue addressing the issues that matter most to Utah communities and delivering exceptional constituent service.”

Rees’s experience includes serving as Executive Director of Government Operations under Governor Spencer J. Cox, Mayor of Cedar Hills, six years on its City Council, CEO roles in private sector companies such as RevRoad, executive positions in healthcare technology startups, along with academic credentials from University of Phoenix (B.S.) and Southern Utah University (MPA).

Curtis represents Utah in the Senate after two terms as mayor of Provo according to his official website. He founded the Conservative Climate Caucus according to his official website.

Curtis serves on multiple committees advocating conservative environmental solutions while supporting small businesses; he has passed legislation addressing public land management issues according to his official website. He is described among Congress’s most effective Republican members according to his official website.

He also raises six children with his wife Sue; they have 17 grandchildren according to his official website.
