Snow College welcomed about 800 students and advisors from across Utah for the Latinos in Action (LIA) Leadership Conference held on its Ephraim campus on May 7. The event focused on leadership development, college readiness, cultural celebration, and community engagement.

The conference aimed to help students build confidence and develop leadership skills while fostering a sense of belonging. Participants attended classes, presentations, and performances that supported the core mission of Latinos in Action: empowering students to lead and strengthen their communities through education, service, and leadership development.

Jorge Fierro served as the keynote speaker at the event. He shared his personal story with attendees and encouraged them “to pursue their goals, embrace their potential, and recognize the value of their personal experiences.”

Fernando Montano from Snow College’s Student Connection Center said, “We are so grateful for the opportunity to host these students on campus and expose them to the many positive things happening at Snow College. We hope students leave knowing that Snow College is a welcoming place and a great option for them as they consider their future education.”

Latinos in Action currently serves thousands of students across multiple states with an emphasis on college readiness, service opportunities, leadership growth, and leveraging cultural assets for positive change.

Snow College was founded in 1888 by Utah pioneers as a two-year institution with campuses in Ephraim and Richfield along with a learning center in Nephi. The college serves more than 5,000 students.
