Utah Department of Agriculture and Food schedules pesticide applicator training in Monticello

The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) will hold a Private Pesticide Applicator Workshop in Monticello on Monday, September 22, 2025. The event is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Hideout Community Center, located at 648 S Hideout Way.

Jared Vernon from UDAF will present information about pesticide laws and regulations. Michael Wierda, PhD., representing the USU Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP), will discuss pesticide safety. AJ Ferguson will address topics related to pesticide use.

The workshop agenda includes sessions on laws and regulations, safety practices, practical use demonstrations, exam preparation, and concludes with the Private Pesticide Applicator Exam.

Attendees are required to register by emailing the organizer by September 19. Participants must bring their own laptop computers for the exam and licensing process.
