The University of Utah men’s lacrosse team, ranked No. 20 nationally, will play Queens on April 18 at Ute Field as they seek to clinch at least a share of the ASUN Conference regular season title. The match comes after Utah secured its place in the upcoming ASUN Tournament. Admission is free for fans, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Utah’s performance this season has been marked by strong offensive and defensive statistics. The team leads the nation in assists per game and ranks second in both goals per game and points per game. Head coach Andrew McMinn, now in his fifth season with Utah, holds a record of 58-26 and is the program’s all-time wins leader.
Players Nikko DiPonio and Ryan Stines have received several honors this year. DiPonio was named the 2025 ASUN Defensive Player of the Year and earned All-America Honorable Mention status from multiple organizations. He was also unanimously selected as Preseason ASUN Defensive Player of the Year for 2026, while Stines was voted Preseason Offensive Player of the Year by league coaches.
Stines and DiPonio recently became Utah’s first-ever selections in the Premier Lacrosse League College Draft, joining only four other programs nationwide with multiple players drafted this year. Both athletes were also added to this year’s Tewaaraton Award Watch List—an honor recognizing top college lacrosse players—which marks three consecutive seasons that a Utah player has appeared on that list.
Sophomore Luke McNamara has emerged as one of Division I’s top scorers, leading all players with an average of over four goals per game this season. The team’s success extends across various statistical categories including ground balls recovered per game (first nationally) and caused turnovers (second nationally).
Looking ahead, Utah will conclude its regular season against Air Force on April 25 at Ute Field during Senior Day festivities.
