Utah State head women’s basketball coach Wesley Brooks announced the signing of Addy Horsley on May 14.
The addition of Horsley is expected to strengthen the team’s guard position and contribute to their style of play. Brooks said, “Addy bolsters our guard depth and fits our style of play. What impresses the most with Addy is her ability to get to the free throw line, earning 199 FTs and shooting 82 percent last season. She is a very capable facilitator— averaging six assists per game on any level is absolutely insane. We look forward to having her on our team.”
Horsley joins Utah State after playing her freshman season at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Arizona, where she led her team with an average of 17.9 points per game, along with team-highs in assists (6.0), steals (2.4), and rebounds (6.0) per game. She appeared in 27 games, starting in 25, reaching double figures in scoring for all but two games and surpassing twenty points ten times during the season.
Her notable performances included a career-high 29 points against Pima Community College and Phoenix College, as well as a triple-double against South Mountain Community College with 14 points, a season-high eleven rebounds, twelve assists, and four steals. In another standout performance against Phoenix College, she scored twenty-nine points while collecting nine rebounds and nine assists.
Horsley’s contributions helped lead Chandler-Gilbert Coyotes to seventeen wins—the program’s highest total since 2009—and earned her First Team All-ACCAC (Region 1) honors.
Originally from Bluffdale, Utah, Horsley played high school basketball at Bingham High School in South Jordan where she was recognized as a three-time Class 6A all-state honoree and contributed significantly throughout her high school career.
