Utah State women’s tennis lost to No. 60 Boise State, 4-1, on April 17 in the team’s regular season finale at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club.

The match was significant as it marked Senior Day for Utah State, with the team honoring seniors Magdalena Nunez Pureco and Olivia Halvorsen before doubles play began.

In doubles competition, Utah State responded to an early loss at court three by securing a win at the second position. Sophomore Kylee Sperry and freshman Terezia Mlkva teamed up for a decisive 6-2 victory. However, Boise State ultimately clinched the doubles point after winning at the top spot.

During singles play, Boise State extended its lead with a win at No. 4 singles before sophomore Maria Paula Ramos Garcia brought Utah State onto the scoreboard with a straight-sets victory (6-2, 6-2) at the third position. The Broncos secured their overall match win by taking victories at both No. 1 singles and through a three-set battle at No. 2 singles.

With this result, Utah State concludes its regular season holding an overall record of 11-10 and will enter next week’s Mountain West Tournament in Las Vegas as the conference’s No. 6 seed.
