The Weber State women’s golf team finished in seventh place after the final round of the Big Sky Conference Championships on April 22 at Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
The tournament marked the end of the season for the Wildcats, who posted a team score of 296 in the final round and recorded a total score of 892 over three rounds. The team opened with rounds of 294 and 302 before improving their position on the last day.
Sofia Fuenmayor led Weber State by finishing tied for fifth individually. She carded five birdies during her final round, shooting a one-under-par 70. Her overall performance included rounds of 70, 72, and another 70 for a one-under-par total of 212 across all three days.
Cala Korman also placed among the top-20 competitors, securing fifteenth place with scores of 73, 74, and an even-par final round of 72. Korman played strongly down the stretch on Wednesday by playing her last five holes at four under par; she made an eagle on hole fourteen and consecutive birdies to close out her round on holes seventeen and eighteen.
Other Wildcats contributors included Braylyn Bayer (39th overall), Emily Song (tied for forty-sixth), Adley Nelson (who played two rounds), and Jade Gruher (who substituted in for Nelson during the final round). Northern Arizona won this year’s conference title with a five-under-par total score of 847—five strokes ahead of Northern Colorado. Montana State took third place while Portland State finished fourth. Individually, Lizzie Neale from Northern Arizona shot six under par in her last round to tie Montana State’s Norah Seidl atop the leaderboard at five under par after fifty-four holes.
