The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) Animal Health Program is organizing a webinar to provide updates on the New World Screwworm for veterinarians, livestock, and pet owners. The event aims to share information with producer groups, livestock owners, and veterinarians.

The webinar will take place on Monday, July 21, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in the America/Denver time zone. Participants can join via Google Meet using the provided video call link or by dialing in with the specified phone number and PIN.

The New World Screwworm is a fly that poses significant threats to livestock and pets. It is currently moving northward through Mexico. UDAF invites veterinarians and animal owners to attend this session to learn about the pest’s impact, preventive measures being taken in the US, and eradication strategies if it enters the country.

Veterinarians interested in earning a continuing education unit from the Utah Veterinary Medical Association should register through the provided link. For any questions regarding the event, Dr. Amanda Price, State Veterinarian, can be contacted at her email address.
