3.5% of citizens in Utah unemployed in 2021

Utah's unemployment rate hit 3.5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That's 58,170 people out of the 3,231,370 living in Utah at the time, according to data U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26, 2023.

The unemployment rate in Utah has decreased compared to the 3.6% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Utah was less than the national unemployment rate of 5.5%.

Of the 1,595,648 people who had a job during that time, 5,505 were employed in the Armed Forces and 1,590,143 belonged to the civilian labor force.
