The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) has issued a reminder for drivers in Utah and Salt Lake counties to prepare for potential travel disruptions due to ongoing construction projects.
In Utah County, the intersection of Redwood Road and 2100 North in Lehi will experience nightly closures starting at 9:30 p.m. as crews work on installing beams for a new bridge. These closures will last until 5:30 a.m. on weekdays, with extended hours on weekends until 9 a.m. During this time, Redwood Road will be closed to through traffic and left turns, although right turns will still be allowed.
In Salt Lake County, pavement work is set to begin on southbound I-15 from Midvale to Sandy starting Monday, February 24. Nightly lane closures and shifting traffic patterns are scheduled from Monday to Thursday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., extending from Sunday through Thursday beginning March 2. This project is expected to continue into the fall.
Additionally, a new traffic pattern will be implemented at the intersection of 9800 South and Bangerter Highway as early as Friday, February 21. The signal lights will be removed, preventing access to Bangerter Highway from 9800 South while allowing free-flowing traffic on the highway itself. This arrangement is anticipated to remain until October 2025.
UDOT also plans to reopen 3200 West under SR-201 in West Valley City/Salt Lake City on Saturday, February 22. The road had been closed since last summer for reconstruction of the SR-201 bridge over it.
Construction schedules may change based on weather conditions. For updates on traffic restrictions during these projects, UDOT advises checking their Traffic website or app and following them on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
